Information About Creator(s)

The University Council serves as an advisory group to the University. Its committees study various needs and areas of the University and submit reports for consideration by the President and Yale Corporation.

The University Council may be composed of a maximum of thirty-five members appointed by the Corporation on nomination by the President and, as ex officio representatives, the Chairman of the Association of Yale Alumni and the Chairman of the Alumni Fund. Members serve for terms of up to five years, as designated by the President, and elect their own President annually.
